The GLU Platform has been fortunate to make its way into two finalist positions at this year’s 16th Annual AIMIA Awards in Best Use of Social Media and Best Export Achievement categories.

In the “Best Use of Social Media” category digital agency Saatchi & Saatchi used the GLU Platform to power the Cadbury Eyebrow Me! application for their client Cadbury using the GLU Platform’s User Generated Content, Social Media Moderation and Content Delivery capabilities.

The GLU Platform provides a comprehensive, end-to-end solution for rich media development, collaboration and management and is quickly becoming the Flash CMS for freelance Flash Designers and Flash Platform Developers, and digital agencies, providing self-serve capabilities from an ActionScript 3.0 API and Flash Components through to online management system.

The second category, Best Export Achievement, we’re honored to be alongside some great local entries, including our friends over at Soap Creative and MassMedia, both worth checking out.

PRESS RELEASE
Source: DDX: DDX GLU Platform, First Cloud-Computing based Rich Media Platform

GLU, a rich media management system, now provides full cloud-computing capabilities in addition to its current features, which include an ActionScript development framework and component suite, media encoding and publishing, mobile video ingestion and conversion, video advertising, user generated content, social media and turn-key analytics.

SYDNEY, Australia – May 12th, 2009 – At CeBIT Australia, DDX today announced the migration of its rich media platform, GLU, into ‘the cloud’, making it the first rich media community, management system and development framework to move to a full cloud-computing model, providing highly scalable and world-wide rich media capabilities and leading edge content delivery.

GLU enables web designers, developers and businesses the ability to enhance their rich media offering through powerful web-services and the ability to significantly reduce development time by leveraging pre-built components in their projects and through an online management system.

GLU previously provided an enhanced and more efficient rich media development solution, now in ‘the cloud’, GLU provides a world class and leading edge rich media cloud-computing platform and content delivery solution.

The new cloud-computing features in GLU mean that clients executing rich media projects can count on GLU to quickly scale with the success of their online business, campaign or project. Computing resources are automatically allocated as required.

“Rich media functionality has become increasingly more sophisticated and clients are expecting greater access to more powerful features and value for their investment.” said Sasha Merzliakov, Business Director & Partner of DDX. “We use GLU for our own production requirements to provide our clients with leading edge rich media functionality, significantly more quickly and affordably than ever before.”

In addition to the new cloud-computing features, GLU continues to provide powerful rich media functionality such as media encoding and publishing, mobile video ingestion and conversion, video advertising, user generated content, social media and turn-key analytics, integrated into GLU’s management system and component suite.

Rich media developers can quickly leverage powerful functionality which can then be managed by GLU’s easy-to-use online management system.

Pricing and Availability:

GLU is currently in public beta, however has been used commercially and successfully by clients such as MTV, MySpace, and Mambo. GLU pricing and formal commercial accounts are expected to be available within months. For commercial enquiries, please contact DDX.

DDX is honoured to have its Google Analytics integration with its GLU rich media platform presented at the Even Smarter Data conference within Shyam Govardhan’s “Google Analytics Insights and Outcomes” presentation.

This Marketing Association of New Zealand one day forum was held in Auckland and provided the opportunity to learn the latest and most successful database marketing techniques.

“My presentation at the Marketing Association Smarter Data forum was a great opportunity to share some of the more advanced Google Analytics tools and features with an audience of senior marketers. In particular, I was keen to share the Tracking for Adobe Flash feature, as it will only become increasingly relevant in the future as websites become richer and make more use of Flash.” said Shyam Govardhan, Customer Solutions Engineer with Google.

“DDX have been particularly quick in adapting the GLU platform to take advantage of the Analytics integration using ActionScript 3, so they were a great example to use during the presentation, focusing in particular on the Choco Creative and Toyota Tarago micro-sites. Both these campaigns were cases in which tracking software of a few years ago would not have been able to cut it … but with the new tools becoming available today, rich media campaigns are essentially as easy to track and manage as static ones …”

The conference was attended by approximately 120 delegates from large companies around New Zealand and Shyam’s presentation was also provided to attendees in a printed workbook.

The Choco Creative case study provided an excellent example as to how Google Analytics could be ‘turned on’ for projects built with GLU. Choco Creative is a boutique creative agency based in London and Seoul, who with GLU and Google Analytics now gain rich insights into their website traffic with Google Analytics Advanced Segmentation, Custom Reporting, Motion Charts, and more.

Many thanks to Shyam for presenting GLU and providing delegates with the knowledge and capability to quickly and easily integrate Google Analytics into their Flash projects and rich media campaigns.

DDX had the opportunity to assist Choco Creative by integrating GLU with their new Flash website to provide key content management and Google Analytics reporting functionality, enabling the website to be easily updated and monitored.

Choco Creative produce beautiful and inspiring design, for both interactive and print:

“Working with GLU and the team at DDX could not have been easier. Using such a powerful and simple application allowed us to spend much more time focusing on the creative.” said Stephanie Cho-Smith.

Choco Creative’s use of GLU featured timely integration of GLU’s Google Analytics PageView and Event Tracking within Flash, providing sophisticated, turn-key reporting through Choco Creative’s Google Analytics account.

Presented by Shyam Govardhan, Google Customer Solutions Engineer, at the “Even Smarter Data” conference in New Zealand on 2nd April 2009, Choco Creative’s website provided a key example of GLU’s Google Analytics features.
